Hisoka and the No Good, Terrible, Very Bad Day.

[The problem with closing in on villains is when cornered, they tend to do stupid things. In this case, they waited until the Judges were raiding one of their strongholds and then the leader went and kidnapped Hisoka himself.

Given the mess made of the bakery, and the number of slavers who are basically rendered vegetative on the floor, it didn't go quite as planned. And she may have left a trail behind, out of threads and cookies and basically anything she could.

Right now, though, she's sulking, bound and gagged, and listening to a villain monolouging in his base of operations. She's a bit bruised from her repeated refusals to cooperate with his demands, and she's bitten the man in question at least twice, hence the gag. Rescue is very much desired.]

I'm okay.

[Well, not entirely okay. She must be completely drained, for the bruise on her cheek to still even be there. But, aside from that, she got off pretty easy. And she is reaching out, just enough for her fingers to brush over his hand--some reassurance she really is mostly okay.]

It's okay. It's...over, isn't it?

[Well, Kohane might helpfully remind them there's paperwork and reports to be done as well as some mopping up but she knows better than to interrupt a moment.]

...Why aren't you healing then?

'M tired. [Yeah this is kinda. Icky. But you know moral support for the husbando is important.]

...It takes a lot more effort to fight back like that than I expected it to. Probably because I don't know what I'm doing but, honestly, I prefer not knowing.

[She's being vague about it for the sake of plausible deniability but, well, she's still Betrayal's daughter as much as she's Beiwe's. He can probably work out what she did.]

[If you think he's stopping for paperwork, Kohane, you have another thing coming. He's not even stopping to pull his cloak around himself. He's tired now.]

Yes. [Yeah that's not gonna freak out the people on the streets or anything. But Hisoka's not gonna argue, because she could use a bath and sleep and serious cuddles herself.

So, homeward they go. With perhaps a little more understanding of where Retsu picked up his nickname.]

[Look, he's already basically the sanctioned vigilante that keeps these people safe. Most of them are terrified already. But yeah, he doesn't care right now. He's going home.

When he does get home he's popping off that armor -- in some cases having to peel it off, just leaving it in a pile because so much of it's damaged or broken that he's not sure what Renn's going to want back, and then stoking a fire. With the gear off he's not that bloody, so he's not fighting her for the first bath at all. He'll just plop into an overstuffed chair and wait for her.]

[Well, she's going about it pretty quickly, because she's not that messed up, but when she comes back she's clearly just stolen a shirt that got left here and some shorts, because real clothes are too much effort. She's...also making a face at the pile.]

[He seems to be enjoying his seat by the fire and near nap. But he also is kind of a mess. Predicaments.]

Retsu, you need to wash that blood off before it congeals and gets nasty, then you can sleep in any number of warm places.

[That was almost a no-shit whine, he must be tired if that's the case, but he's up and he's headed for the bath. A long bath. Maybe he fell asleep in there. It takes awhile.]

Of course, if he's still not out of the bath by the time she's pulled herself together enough to make dinner, she's poking her head into the bathroom to check on him.]

[He's probably out before then, just sulky woofs take their sweet time. Also because he really needed it. He's back but it seems has only just pulled on a pair of pants when he returns.]

What'd you cook?

Stew. It's simple, and I already had some meat from the other night to use...

[So, easy enough to make. And smells fantastic, because even dead on her feet, Hisoka's ridiculously good at this.]

We could have found something else. I'm sure we could have gone and bought something...

[He's not complaining, though. He'll sit down and wait for her.]

But then I'd have to put on real clothes.

[But she's bringing him some stew shortly. And her own. And a little bit of bread for soaking in juices because this is how she rolls.]

Do you really feel up to dealing with more people today?

Not necessarily... less beautiful women get away with wearing less in the capital all the time, Hisoka.

[He smiles at her over his soup.]

But I'd rather be here with you.

[Well that's an impressive blush. She's smiling back in return, though.]

Flatterer. But...I'd rather stay here with you, too.

Well, good. YOu'll likely have me here for a few days, if the chief has his way. I did murder a nobleman, there's an investigation to be made... I'm certain you'll find some way to work around me.

[But he's just gonna eat his dinner like that's none of his business.]

...Well, this place is gonna need some...cleaning, before I can reopen the bakery. But maybe I'll finally teach you how to make some things?

[Yes let's consuming stew. Magic makes a girl fucking ravenous, apparently.]

Mm, working even on my days off. That's rather harsh of you, isn't it? But I'm certain you can make it worthwhile.

[Dude's always ravenous. Probably part of that not-entirely-human thing he has going, just jacks his metabolism up something fierce.]

I'd say I'm doing this to keep you from getting too bored, but if that's how you want to look at it, I'm certain I can find some way to reward your efforts.

[This is probably why she tends to make enough food for three or four people, honestly. Which is to say, she's just gonna go refill the bowls.]

Let's see if we even make it to work tomorrow, first, Hisoka. Though I'm curious to see what sort of rewards you've come up with, pent up here in your bakery...

[Apparently murdering a dude just turns Retsu into a huge flirt. Not that he's complaining about seconds.]

[Breathing appears to make retsu one of two things, cranky or flirty. Hisoka has been kind of wondering if a day will come that he'll manage both at once. But here, have more food.]

Considering it took me months to get you to wear things that weren't burlap sacks, perhaps yes, I would like to challenge you, Hisoka.

[It's true. He does only have a few settings. Still not as bad as some, though.]

Hmm. Put your bowl away and come upstairs.

[Just...getting her bowl put away and wandering off. Retsu, you should realize that with Hisoka's, uh, appetites you may have gotten yourself in the best kind of trouble.]

[THIS IS EXACTLY THE SORT OF TROUBLE HE WANTED. Probably. Maybe more than he expected. Look Retsu is not a clever man, just a hot and incredibly justice minded one.

[It hasn't given her a lot of lead time, no, but long enough for her to have lost her shirt, which she's pretty much figured out works just as well as anything she could wear.

He will catch her just...considering his desk in an alarmingly contemplative fashion, though, before she hears him come in.]

It was only to rinse out a bowl. I can walk out and wait in the hallway for a few moments, if you need time to get ready, Hisoka.

[He does look her over, less appreciatively, more hungrily, as he says it though.]

[He will stalk over there immediately and just rest one hand on her ribs, right under her breasts, then immediately lean in for the kiss.]

[Yeah, he wanted a surprisingly aggressive kiss, right? because apparently Hisokas are more than capable of getting downright roughly hungry in this, and also maybe grabbing his ass in the process.

[He is aware, and he will respond to ass grabbings by immediately reaching up and groping her chest in kind. Seems he's fine with having awakened a beast, about as fine as he is with keeping this kiss going as long as he can.]

[Yeah she's going to keep kissing him until her lungs are basically screaming for air, and when she breaks away it's with a sharp gasp, given all that groping, but--well. She doesn't really have the temperament to be really, truly rough with him, but she will get her hands down the back of his pants and work on giving him a seriously impressive hickey.]
