[Well. Let's invoke some timeywimey in here. Obviously, the forces of Darkness (tm) and Orochi are on the rise, shit is terrible and Hisoka and Keisuke may or may not be actual incarnations of their representative gods.
Of course, if one was nearing other large revelations and wanted to find Hisokas, it is a school day and so, once more, Hisoka is (mostly) politely turning down scores of far-too-insistent admirers, in a tone and inflection that might signify she is very much wishing her powers were not quite so restricted. Particularly the part where she can fly.
Or perhaps one could catch her get rapidly less polite with an oddly familiar dude with way too many bad pick-up lines and something about the Moon Kingdom.
What do?]

[He does kind of gasp after a bit; apparently the active rune is very sensitive.]
W-what are you considering, then...?

[Funny. He seems to know the answer and yet can't will the words out of his mouth.]

[It turns out, when you inherit powers like these, you're pretty well-drilled in one of the most famous folktales ever.]

When it clears Retsu isn't there. Not that there's any reason to freak out. In one of her hands, perhaps clutched in both, lies a sword. It is a bit larger than it should be, given how light it is - built in the ancient style, with no real handguard but a serious pommel. It plain but with some ornamentation design; austere but the craftsmanship of a master, and most curiously, of a singular, silvery-white metal, so perfectly forged as to be reflective.]

[THIS SEEMS LIKE A PERFECTLY GOOD REASON TO FREAK OUT.]

[VOICE IN YOUR HEEEAAAD.]

[Because oddly-comforting talking swords are not really huggable and if he hasn't caught on yet, Hisoka does not cope well without another human-shaped thing nearby.]

no subject
[That's a little odd. But she does take a steadying breath.] Could you be...human-shaped again, please? It will be easier to talk that way.
no subject
[He seems almost perplexed by the way she calls for him to change back but he does it all the same. There. Now the cute boy is standing there again.]
Better?
no subject
[She sighs, and leans forward against him, so her head is leaned against where the seal was.]
'Fujiwara'...how many times have I told you to call me by name?
[She is not liking the idea that this has basically reset the Retsu to factory settings.]
no subject
[Well, perhaps she has not, not entirely. He does seem a little more stiff again, which might be from grasping some of his identity, but he isn't monotone again. That, and after a second, he holds here.]
I wasn't referring just to you, Hisoka. Whatever contract I made last has yet to expire, and though I cannot recall the details with clarity, I know it was a Fujiwara.
no subject
[She obviously relaxes when he holds her, at least, and she's definitely not making any sign of moving.] Father couldn't have inherited Amaterasu's power, and I don't think he ever showed signs of inheriting either of the brothers, but...after the War, even the youma were quiet, for a while.

[He will reach out and stroke her hair, some, after a moment.]
You may yet possess that same strength... I sense she was quite unlike you, though.
no subject
[Hisokas have exceptionally soft and silky hair, as it turns out. They also enjoy pets.]
The name--'Retsu', do you think that she gave it to you?
no subject
[He continues to stroke her hair, more to reassure her that he is there.]
I served her in her battles against the rising tide of youma, and, as her, well, the popular term of the day was "Boy Friday" from the westerners, among other such duties...

As a man, Retsu, as a sword, Metsu...maybe the contract remains until you're renamed?
no subject
[He considers it for a moment.]
Perhaps she knew that I would be needed again.
no subject
[She leans back, so she can squint at him a little.] I--think I know how to grant you a name. If you want to, that is.

I restore to you the name Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi. As a sword, Ten. As a man...
[She hesitates, briefly, because it has occured to her how weird this is.]
...Kenzaki. Kenzaki Retsu--a full name, as befitting one who stands as both man and blade.
[...Of course, this is only hoping binding him with his full, original name doesn't have any unforseen consequences. Or that giving him a full human name doesn't do anything too terribly weird, either.]
no subject
I... I see.
no subject
[Hisoka.]

[He smiles at her, then.]
Please remember to call upon me, Hisoka.
